Subespai is the solo project of Mauri Edo, a Sydney musician born in Barcelona. Walking the line between ambient, noise and drone music, Subespai paints experimental soundscapes by mixing acoustic and electronic audio sources with effect pedals, field recordings and other gadgets.
"Vespertine Works" acts as a meditation on the night-time of the cityscape. Composed entirely during nocturnal hours, the two pieces attempt to reflect the slow, quiet and unsettling identity of the city at night. The first piece is a darker and more tense dronescape which is followed by a contrastingly peaceful swelling composition on side B . These pieces blend in with the environment, challenging the listener to embark on a journey of introspection. Night time listening recommended.
